http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?products_id=8416

Welcome to Sparkle N Sprinkle's
April 1 New Reveal Blog Hop!

This month the Designers were asked to create projects with Want 2 Scrap chipboard products.  If you are able to visit any of the shows that SNS is participating in this year, you will notice SNS now has a larger booth.  Margaret and crew are sharing this new, larger space with Want 2 Scrap.
We wanted to showcase various projects using both SNS products and W2S products together.  Hopefully, you'll see some new uses of these products that you may not have thought of before.  Chipboard can be used for more than scrapbook layouts or mini albums :-).  So sit back, enjoy the Hop and get ready to have those creative juices flowing!
Be sure to visit the SNS Blog all month long for more projects and ideas that incorporate your favorite glitters, embossing powders, and more with the Want 2 Scrap chipboard.

On April 3rd, ONE GRAND PRIZE WINNER will be selected from the comments left on the Designers' blogs listed below. Please leave a comment with each Designer in order to be eligible for the Grand Prize.  You never know who the Mystery Designer will be that has the winning comment.

The Grand Prize Winner, which will be announced on the SNS Facebook page and on the SNS Blog on April 4, will receive a $20 gift certificate to go shopping at the SNS Shoppe.

I am not one to use a lot of chipboard on projects but love some of the ways I have seen it used with embossing powders.  I really liked the scroll font used with this chipboard “Love” and decided to create a wedding card using Sparkle N Sprinkle’s Happily Ever After stamp set.

The card base is die cut using a Spellbinders’ die cut and layered on super adhesive and a darker purple layer.  The remaining exposed adhesive was covered with the new Hyacinth Velvet Glitter.

The Happily Ever After image and sentiment were both heat embossed onto the card front using Morning Glory embossing powder.

I covered the chipboard word with Versamark Ink and heat embossed it twice with Silver Pearl embossing powder.  Then I covered it with Versamark Ink one more time, covered it with Bridal glitter, and heat set.  The Silver Pearl EP melts and keeps the glitter in place.  I added a few pearls to the heart shape and adhered to the card front.

These pretty roses are also from Want 2 Scrap.  I adhere several to the top and bottom, arched around the image and sentiment.

The Sparkle N Sprinkle Creative Challenge also begins today.  There are lots of prizes and recognition badges.  Come check out how you can become a SNS Featured Artist as well.  The theme is always Anything Goes using Loose Glitter, Embossing Powder, and/or Flock.

He Has Risen

Despite how the weather is acting in some places, it is spring.  This is my favorite season and this coming weekend is one of my favorite holidays – Easter.  For my Easter cards, I like to mix it up with fun, bright bunny and chick cards and more subtle, elegant religious cards.

Today’s card features Just For Fun's Easter Cross.  It is a great combination of the cross and lovely lilies.  I heat embossed the image with detail white embossing powder on kraft cardstock.  I did a little experimenting with colored pencils to get a lighter look behind the image by coloring around it with yellow, and then white, colored pencils.  Then I buffed over this to help blend the coloring and sponged Distress Ink around the outer edges.

I used a mixture of colored pencils and Tombow markers to color the actual image.  I really love how the lilies came out, with the soft white and a little of the craft showing through.

The sentiment, He Has Risen, was stamped with Dusty Concord Distress Ink and die cut with Spellbinders’ Ribbon Banner die.  Before removing the die cut from the die, it was lightly sponged with Tea Dye Distress Ink.

Don’t forget to enter the new JFF Monthly Challenge for a chance to win a gift certificate to JFF Stamps!  The March theme is “Spring” and you can find all the details here.

I hope you have a wonderful Easter.

CAS Congrats!

I have a few CAS cards (clean and simple) to share today, using the new Donna's Stylin Sayings set from Sparkle N Sprinkle.  This set is perfect for so many different background affects and includes sayings that can be used for a variety of occasions.

My first card combined three different Distress Inks on the same image.  A simple “Celebrate” was heat embossed across the center, using Purple Spark Embossing Powder.

The texture was added using the small dotted image with Versamark Ink and White Detailed Embossing Powder.

Most CAS cards involve a single layer but I decided to use three, using an embossing folder to add design and texture to the second layer and a simple sheer bow on the front layer.

This second card uses the same technique and colors in two corners.  This gives a great pop of color but plenty of white space for the simple "Congrats" sentiment.

Once again I used three layers, this time using some coordinating color for the second layer.

Both cards are very quick and easy – perfect to have on hand for that last minute card!

Exciting News!!

Just For Fun Stamps is now giving you a chance to win free product with their new monthly challenge.  This month the theme is “Spring”.  Find all the details here on the Just For Fun Blog.

Here is a little Spring inspiration!  The main image is the Lily, stamped over the Cloverleaf Frame.

Two sections were colored, cut out, and layered on green.  These were added to a white layer, stamped with the Easter Blessings sentiment.

I hope you are as excited as I am about this new monthly challenge and will join us by linking your spring creation.
