My card features the Ellie Retail Therapy stamp set.  Both of my daughters share a birthday right after Christmas and my one daughter loves to shop.  This was a perfect idea for a birthday card for her.

The base of the card is two layers of decorative cardstock on an eggshell card base.  Then three rectangles, layered on a light blue, were added.   I used the Distressed Embossing Powder technique and Versamark Ink to add Midnight Madness embossing powder around the edges of the top decorative layer and each rectangle.  I also did this, using Velvet Sparkle embossing powder, to add a glittery look to the light blue layers.

(TIP:  The glitter on the top decorative layer was already part of the design, but this affect can be created on any decorative cardstock by simply using a Sakura Glue Pen and one of Sparkle N Sprinkles semi-transparent glitters or you can also use a Versamarker and add Sparkle Embossing Powder and heat set.)

I wanted to give a more dimensional look around the sentiment so I actually die cut a circular window through all the front layers to reveal the card base.  Then I heat embossed the sentiment, using Versamark Ink and Midnight Madness embossing powder.  I added the scalloped frame by die cutting light blue cardstock with a Nellie Snellen Multi Frame Flower die, covering it with Versamark Ink and Velvet Sparkle embossing powder, and heat setting.

The image was colored with Copic Markers.  To give it a little sparkle, I added Velvet Sparkle embossing powder to the toe nails, Midnight Madness embossing powder to the belt, and Super Thick Clear embossing powder to the purse.  I popped this cutie on the card front with dimensionals.

For final touches, I added some little buttons and a little bag created with a Sizzix die.  The perfect place to tuck in a little money gift.

Now hop on over to see what my fellow designers have to share with you.  Don't forget to leave a comment with each Designer to be eligible for the Grand Prize.  Last month the winner came from my blog.  Wonder which Designer contains the Grand Prize winner this month?

We love reading your comments and hope we have inspired you as well.  If you absolutely cannot leave a comment for some reason, please email icinganne@yahoo.com with your comment and the name of the blog or Designer you are commenting about.

We hope you enjoy the New Reveals as much as we do!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas!

A Christmas Card For You

I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas!

This is one of my Christmas cards.  I love for my cards to share the true meaning of Christmas.  The Nativity image and both sentiments are older unmounted stamps from my stash so I am not sure where they came from.  I usually make a lot more, but between a neck injury in a car accident and then a recent bout with strep, I just wasn’t as productive this year.   Hopefully that will improve with the new year.

I started this card by using the Triple Stamping technique with the two layers of kraft cardstock.  I stamped the Pine image from Sparkle N Sprinkles new Toyland Bear set several times with Versamagic White ink and heat embossed with SNS’ Winter White embossing powder

The top layer was removed and I used Spellbinders’ Heirloom Ornament die to cut out a window.  I ran a Versamarker along the inside edge of the ornament window and the outer edge of the kraft piece and added SNS Golden Sparkle EP and heat set.  The sentiment was heat embossed with SNS Detail White EP in the lower corner.  This was popped up with foam tape over a white layer with the Nativity scene, heat embossed with Golden Sparkle EP, centered in the ornament window.  This was all added to the kraft card base.

I added a sentiment on the inside, once again heat embossing with Detail White EP.

I hope each of you has a wonderful, blessed Christmas.

Merry Christmas,

E. Marie
